We’ll file this under “What am I thinking?!”

As I was typing away earlier today, Joe was sitting behind my writing nook on Olivia (that’s my red velvet couch and yes, I name inanimate objects) and he glanced at my monitor…

Joe: “Wait!  What are you doing?”

Me: “Typing.”

Joe: “Typing what?”

Me: (crickets chirping)

Joe: “You started another book, didn’t you?”

Me: “… maybe.”

Joe: “But, it’s almost November!  What about NaNo?”

Me: “Well, I already know what I’m writing for NaNo, it’s been in my head since last year’s NaNo.  This just came to me last night while I couldn’t sleep.  I need to get it out, so I don’t forget it.  If I wait until after November, I might forget it and I like it, so I don’t want to do that.”

Joe: “I guess you have to feed the muse, right?”

Me: “Yeah, something like that… or just avoid revising the other two manuscripts I have sitting in the computer.  But we’ll just call it ‘feeding the muse’.  That sounds better.”

What my desk SHOULD look like through the months of September and October.

What my desk ACTUALLY looks like right now. (And that's not the messy side. THAT was too embarassing to share, so I cropped it out. I never said you guys get full disclosure.)
